A Wild Tasmanian Adventure with author & chef Sarah Glover

A Wild Tasmanian Adventure with author & chef Sarah Glover

As some of you may know, the annual Grampians Grape Escape festival in Halls Gap in the heart of the Grampians National Park is one of my favourite events of the year. It's a home game for me, and I love meeting everyone fact-to-face (instead of interacting from behind a screen!) and catching up with all the local makers and producers over a few wines - it's so energising!

So earlier this year when it was announced that Tasmanian native, Sarah Glover was to be one of the celebrity chef appearances at Grampians Grape Escape I knew straight away that I needed to organise a photoshoot of my recycled wool tartan blankets with her because she has the perfect Australian made vibe and everything she does is so authentic, natural and real - the perfect representation of The Grampians Goods Co. values and aesthetic. I also was so excited at the prospect of getting to meet her in person and experience her unique adventure cooking style in action!

Sarah was so lovely to work with and saw my vision immediately. She organised a stunning photoshoot of the tartan recycled wool travel rugs at Satellite Island - an exclusive, private getaway guesthouse off the Tasmanian southeast coast and one of the most pristine Australian landscapes to experience. This setting was perfect because the untouched purity of Tasmania really reflected the eco-friendly product; the Scottish tartan wool blankets are sustainably produced from recycled wool. Also featured in the shoot was 'Rosemary', the Tasmanian islands Land Rover which was an added bonus!

Ultimately the photoshoot in the Tasmanian wilderness evoked so beautifully the versatility of the recycled wool tartan blankets; the photos of Sarah show how they work as a tartan picnic rug, on an adventurous road trip in the wild Australian nature as the perfect tartan travel rug, as a wool tartan throw wrapped around her shoulders to keep warm and cosy and the large size tartan travel rug was shown perfectly in the drone photo of Sarah lying across it with her picnic basket.

Cosiness goals! Coffee, biscotti and wool tartan blanket...

The shoot really highlighted the durability and practicality of the Scottish tartan travel blankets made from recycled wool; they've already been through a rigorous process during production which you can read more about here, and so they can withstand the rugged Australian conditions and are the ultimate all-weather accessory. Plus they travel so neatly and easily rolled into one of our locally handcrafted leather carriers.

Grab one of your own and experience the practical luxury of our recycled wool tartan blankets for yourself!
