A lot of you asked whether we could make our tartan blankets waterproof. You asked, we listened. The backing is waxed cotton oilskin, the same material as a stockman’s coat, so the wet grass stays where it belongs.

Recycled wool, not virgin

Wool offcuts, older blankets and retired garments are sorted by colour, shredded and respun into new yarn. Kinder on the planet, and hardier than virgin merino.

Designed and made here, with our Paddock Pillows™ handmade in Victoria. Not a print-on-demand rug shipped in from a warehouse.

Authentic tartans

Real Scottish setts, not approximations. Rebellion is the Wallace clan tartan, from the original Scottish rebel himself, and a nod to the settlers who first came to our small town.

WHY OURS COST WHAT THEY DO

We get asked about the price. Here’s the honest answer.

A blanket at this price ought to outlast almost anything else you could buy him, and ours are built to. Rather than virgin merino, we use wool offcuts and retired garments. They’re separated into colour groups, shredded, spun into a brand new recycled yarn, then woven into a traditional Scottish tartan.

Recycled wool is tougher and far more practical than virgin merino, which is exactly why we’re happy for you to take it to a festival, a beach, a campsite, or drag it across a paddock. It softens with use rather than wearing out.
