Sundial Story

Golden light spills over a landscape awakening in its own time. The scent of Christmas bush and wildflowers rises as warmth coaxes delicate new blooms from the earth, their roots nourished by the very flames that once swept through. Sundews glisten in rocky crevices, undaunted, as skinks bask on sun-warmed stone. Fairy aprons dance lightly in the breeze, a reminder that fire does not silence the land—it sparks its next flourish.

Candle Care

• On first use, allow the wax to melt to the edge of the glass to form an even burn. This is called a memory burn!
• Always keep the candle wick trimmed to approx. 5mm to maximise burn time.
• Do not burn your candle for longer than 3 hours at a time.
• Store your candle in a cool & dry place to minimise sweating.
• Use a candle snuffer or wick dipper to extinguish your candle to avoid the smell of smoke.

Scents of Place – A Candle Collection Inspired by the Grampians’ Strength and Renewal

Nature’s rhythm is one of renewal, a quiet yet unshakable force of resilience. After more than a year in the dreaming, planning, and refining, Scents of Place was created to honour the breathtaking beauty of the Grampians—but as the landscape has changed, so too has this collection.

When we prepared to represent this region in Paris in 2023, we envisioned a home fragrance collection that would transport people to the hidden gullies, towering forests, and sunlit heathlands of Gariwerd. But in the wake of the recent fires, I have come to see these places in a new light. Not just as they were, but as they are—strong, enduring, and already beginning their next chapter.

Fire is part of the bush’s story. It is both a challenge and a catalyst, opening seed pods, enriching the earth, and making way for the next generation of growth. And just as the land renews itself, so too does the community that calls it home.

This collection has been reimagined, and reimagined again. Now, it holds even deeper meaning—reflecting not only the timeless beauty of the Grampians but also its resilience, its ability to rise again, and the quiet strength found in both nature and the people who cherish it.

Every candle in the Scents of Place collection is a reflection of this landscape, its changing seasons, and the sense of place it evokes.
